Rainbow Hematite, with its rainbow spectrum of colors, is a wonderful crystal for the aura, all the chakras and for grounding. Its natural composition is unlike that of its silvery grey cousin that has a hardness and reflective, silvery sheen. Rainbow Hematite is brittle and more fragile.  It is not always readily available and thus its possession is to be prized and its handling needs be gentle.

The smallest piece has oversize benefits to be gleaned from holding and layouts on the body.  Its energies are grounding but so enlivening at the same time.  It is like an aurora borealis sky that shifts and moves through your subtle body to activate and raise your vibration. It grounds in the awareness that you are so much more than you think you are.  And indeed, it is a great reminder that your energetic form is one of light and color and worthy of your regular consideration, treatment and expansion.

Rainbow Hematite lifts you out of the doldrums and infuses you with the abundance of the universe. It brings to your awareness that your walk on Earth is a joyous gift and when placed on the feet it brings about an acceptance of your journey onwards and upwards. With Rainbow Hematite you may go forth and enjoy your life on our bountiful planet.

These two beautiful crystals are often found growing side by side.  While their structure and coloration are different, they work synergistically for a shared purpose.

Dark or electric blue Azurite, the Stone of Heaven, appears to have its layers deeply bonded together.  It is a stone of meditation and communication and for deep inner knowing. Azurite may be placed on the third eye or held for an accceleration of knowing the self and accessing one’s psychic abilities. Its powerful energies align you with your Higher Self and work through the spine, aligning the chakras. Azurite has a density and strong connection to Mother Earth and at the same time it helps the bearer to open up to energies from above. It has long been prized by the Ancient Egyptians and the American Indians for the insights it may bring in the form of talismans and jewelry. It helps you to blend the subconscious with the conscious mind, revealing more of the truth that is you.

Beware of wearing Malachite, it is said.  This green stone, the Stone of Transformation, with its dark-eyed inclusions within its green, black and white swirls and striations, may be the stone to bring up your issues, perhaps the suppressed emotions that have overflowed from your heart and are now resting in your solar plexus, your sensitive spot. It will assist you to recognize negative patterns and experiences and to be comfortable in changing situations. Malachite will soothe the heart and give you insight into what is preventing you from coming forward.

We are uncovering around the world “new” or “New Age” crystals at this time of Ascension of Mother Earth.  While we may look and declare “This is something new!” ancient wisdom has taught us “there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9).  Over millennia, even millions of years, certain combinations of elements have been forged together to form brilliant, colorful and unique crystals that are coming to the fore NOW.  It is truly a wonder that not only has Mother Nature forged their creation and they have been unearthed, but their vibration is for our use in today’s world. These discoveries enlighten us to the timing of the Divine Plan and the part we play within it.

Ancient crystals help us to grasp the concept that time is an illusion.  In linear fashion, we may conclude that “x” number of years were necessary for crystal creation, however their intrinsic properties and qualities were already in place before they were forged.  As above, so below. The consciousness that each crystal offers us is already infused into its matter.  We just have to   follow our instinct to discern the greater abundance and good they offer us. This a miracle of Divine Timing and, of course, this principle applies universally throughout our lives: we get what we need (not necessarily what we want), when we need it and when we are ready for it, not before. Opportunity and readiness must intersect.

Such a synchronicity happened recently for me. I have been digging further into the balancing of masculine and feminine energies, a focus of interest which I have been sharing in workshops of late. I was seeking a crystalline vibration that could assist this process, knowing that many other combinations of crystals could do the job.  However I sensed there was something more specifically oriented to handle the task.  As I was calling its presence forth, I discovered that a particular crystal had been discovered in 2006. Nirvana Quartz, as it has been named, has been found in the Himalayas as the glaciers melt.

Global warming has, no doubt, had an impact on the retreat of the glaciers in mountainous regions around the world and we are concerned about the acceleration of their melting, their impact on rising sea levels and the reduction of fresh water supplies. We have to own up to our culpability in this regard and learn how to ameliorate our methods of sustaining life utilizing what Mother Earth provides. Yet amid such awareness, is it not remarkable that there is a silver lining shining forth from the melting of the glaciers in the Himalayas: namely Nirvana Quartz (among other crystals)? While the discovery of an individual crystal may seem small or insignificant from a human perspective against such a vast earthly change, I can draw but one conclusion: out of drastic change something good may come. The vibration of Mother Earth holds within her being all that is required for her and our Ascension process.

Thus as I sit holding my Nirvana Quartz, “pink” for the heart and “white” for the mind, I am reminded of our need during this time of transition to recognize and activate the masculine and feminine powers of initiation and manifestation respectively within ourselves. To make loving, rational choices for the benefit of all; this is the message of Nirvana Quartz.  The universe itself has already exhibited these principles through the formation of Nirvana Quartz created aeons ago. We may know that even greater discoveries await our awakening to their presence and essence.  It is a matter of when our consciousness intersects with Divine Consciousness.  We are drawing closer, catching up to what is already there and in place for us.  The past and future intersect for us in the NOW through Nivana Quartz, breaking the illusion of time.

I like to call Peacock Ore, also known as Bornite or Chalcopyrite, “Peacock Rock”.  Its iridescent blue, red and purple colors shimmer and fascinate and are very enlivening.  The intrinsic component of copper makes it a great conductor of energy and a great activator for the aura and all the chakras.  Combined with its brilliance, it is known as the “Happy Stone”.

So named after the showy tail feathers displayed by the male peacock, Peacock Rock is an “attention getter”.  It will capture your attention away from negative factors and aspects of being that hold you back and are ready to be released.  Let its energies replace those that are negative and let it shift you into a place of inner brightness and joy. When holding the stone in meditation, circulate the energies from above your crown, down through your chakras, into Mother Earth and back up to your crown again.

Of particular note is that the peacock has long been associated with the Avatars, often illustrated accompanying Krishna and other “blue beings”. With its eye-covered tail feathers that are treasured for their beauty and value, it has been said that the peacock is a reminder, when gazing upon the Avatar, to be conscious of puffed-up pride and its pitfalls. Let the electric blue emanation of Peacock Ore clear, cleanse and energize you.

Peacock Rock, like the Avatars, says:

  “Let my light shine in your dark places. I am bursting with color and life.”

LIke other jaspers, mookite projects a steadying and balancing influence, revitalizing your base and foundation and stirring enthusiasm for the work ahead. Mookite helps you to make a choice in order to come forward. It is like a trustworthy friend who gives support and a harmonizing balance; simply put, its pleasing energy makes you feel good.

Mookite is a great chakra balancer with its variety of coloration, particularly from the third eye, heart, solar plexus down to the 1st and 2nd chakras. Its attribute of calm is a powerful ally in meditation and crystal healing therapy.  It is a masterful and multi-functional stone for your bastion of healing tools.

The shimmering aluminum silicate found within Kyanite gives it a “heavenly” quality.  Its sky-blue radiance aligns it with celestial energies and the higher vibrations to which we are attuning for this period of Ascension.  Most importantly, Kyanite cannot hold negative energy and for this reason it is the perfect tool for use with the higher chakras.

The blade formations of Kyanite make it a wonderful took for cutting through negative energies and illusion.  The blades may be held in the hand and used to clear the chakras and the aura, or they be placed on the body between the chakras to activate and align the energies between the chakras.  Kyanite is an energy shifter and an attunement tool.

Blue Kyanite also fufills a unique role in that it may be placed on the top of the head behind the crown and down towards the back of the head, i.e. at the Causal Chakra.   Here it may activate the energies of the Rainbow Bridge reaching from the Medula Oblongata at the top of the spine across to the Third Eye.    This bridging assists the inner understanding and alignment within the Self of those aspects of being that may be disparate.  Thus Blue Kyanite brings clarity and comprehension of Self within one’s consciousness.  It also helps one to understand one’s dreams.

Blue Kyanite is a wonderful crystal to clear and balance the throat chakra, to facilitate a deeper understanding and expression of the Self.  It assists one’s connection to the angelic realms and to opening the channels of Divine guidance beyond three-dimensional thinking and limitation; it is a psychic enhancer.

A magnificent form of quartz agate, Carnelian is the stone I reach for to have that extra boost.  Activation, encouragement and empowerment, these are the qualities that Carnelian brings to the wearer.  A fiery and bright orange, Carnelians register with the second chakra to bring a joyfulness and motivation to move forward.  They can help you step out of your comfort zone and to have faith in your future.  Often found with white and/or dark inclusions, they may be activating and quite grounding att he same time for both the first and second chakra.  They are very helpful for kidney and intestinal issues, but use your intuition, however, as to whether activation or calming is required.

Like other members of the agate family, there is a healing and comforting quality that Carnelians bring. There is a smoothness in their energies, not a jarring prod, but rather a warming sense so that reticence slips away and the next step is paved with ease.  I am reminded of an image of Indiana Jones stepping out over the abyss and the road rising up to meet him.  Carnelians help you to move to your next phase or level of being.

Larimar and Love go together like two-swans-a-swimming.  Peaceful, gentle, nurturing, delicate and unobtrusive, like water lapping gently on the shore in a rhythm all of its own.  These are the energies that bring about a sense of inner well-being, like a baby being held in its mother’s arms, as if there is no other place in the world to be.

Luminous Larimar, with its white inclusions in turquoise blue (and green) ocean swirls, is otherwise known as blue pectolite and is only found in the Dominican Republic.  Its rarity and properties have caused its price to rise, but it is an invaluable addition to your healing stones.  It has a deep cleansing action and soothes the heart.  Larimar imparts to the wearer or a sense of oneness with Mother Nature and All There Is.  The sharp edges of life dissolve in its serene atmosphere and precipitate one’s deep exhale.

Angelic and devic creatures may be found radiating in Larimar, with the appearance of an osmotic fetus before being fully formed.   It is a wonderful crystal to connect to the dolphins and whales and all sea life, as well as to on’es Atlantean heritage.  A perfect crystal friend in challenging times, Larimar is like a drop of still water amid a turbulent flow.

Desert Rose Gypsum is a form of selenite that grows between rocks and crevices in a bladed, flower-shaped formation.  It is white with light brown specks of sand that highlight its contours.  Like the lotus emerging from the mud, the Desert Rose is a wondrous and surprising find in the desert.  Like other forms of gypsum, it will disintegrate in water.  Cleansing must be accomplished with intention and incense.

The inclusions and dusting of sand give the Desert Rose a gentle grounding effect but it maintains its light and bright presence.  It is a wonderful stone for meditation to ground the light while encompassing the power to assist creativity and manifestation.  Its intricate structure is an indication that it can help us deal with more complex issues when we are making decisions and considering new opportunities.  It will help us unfold within and trust the journey ahead.  It assists with new beginnings and getting projects started.

Like a petaled flower in bloom, it shows us not to be shy, but to follow our hearts in the way we should go.  Desert Rose is a beautiful gift for the forward thinker.

Beautiful, rich, green Emeralds are prized as much for their luminous color as their rarity.  Emeralds are great heart healers and soothers and are connected to Venus, Mother Earth’s loving sister planet.  Associated with the Universal Green Ray of Abundance, Healing and Prosperity, Emeralds convey to the holder a great sense of well-being and peace.  Worn by priests and royalty in Earth’s recorded history, Emeralds speak to us of purity and loyalty, and they hold a very high vibration.  Cleopatra’s mines near the Red Sea produced the earliest known emeralds, although the highest quality is not found there.  Their premier source today is the Muzo Mine in Colombia, South America, but they may also be found in India, the Russian Ural Mountains, Austria, Africa, Australia, Norway and some parts of the United States.   The Conquistadors from Spain coveted the Emeralds worn by the Aztecs and discovered the mines at Somondoco, Colombia, meaning “god of the Green stones” (now known as Chivor).

Emeralds are part of the beryl family of minerals that has variations of color: clear (goshenite), blue (aquamarine) yellow (heliodor), pink (morganite), violet, blue and pale green.  Chromium gives the Emerald is lush green coloration.  They cleanse negative energies and emotional upsets of the heart.  Like the Green Ray they emanate, they also stimulate inner growth and memory.  They are a great tool to meditate with and to find inner sanctuary from the outward pressures of life.  And, of course, they are magnificent to wear albeit costly to own in faceted form.  Nonetheless, they are a wonderful crystalline friend for lightworkers.
