Moon Magnificat

Alison L. JamesPoetry

I watch you wax and wane
Across midnight skies,
Your halo shining
Over sleeping rooftops
And quiet streets.
I reach out and
Hold you in my hand,
Your shining iridescence
Bathing my room in
Blue opalescent light.
Your silvery shadows shimmer
Through crystalline towers
Atop my glass table
Revealing ethereal forms
Hidden in daytime view.
They speak to me now
In nighttime whispers
Steering me towards the stars
As your magic and mystery
Does woo and weave
Tides of passion with
Goddess strands of
Lingering light
Around my heart.
